Building syllable blocks
Hangeul packs letters into square blocks. There are only four rules.
나
가로 모음은 오른쪽에
ㄴ + ㅏ = 나
ㅏ ㅑ ㅓ ㅕ ㅣ 처럼 세로로 긴 모음은 자음 오른쪽에 붙습니다.
무
세로 모음은 아래에
ㅁ + ㅜ = 무
ㅗ ㅛ ㅜ ㅠ ㅡ 처럼 가로로 긴 모음은 자음 아래에 놓입니다.
물
받침은 맨 아래
ㅁ + ㅜ + ㄹ = 물
블록을 닫는 자음을 '받침'이라 부르고 항상 맨 아래 칸에 들어갑니다.
아
ㅇ은 모음의 자리 지킴이
ㅇ + ㅏ = 아
모음으로 시작하는 소리는 ㅇ을 앞에 세웁니다. 이때 ㅇ은 소리가 없습니다.
